Training pathways
Training pathways
NHPL supports dentists through four recognised pathways.
- DFT
Dental Foundation Training
Structured first-year training for newly-qualified dentists. DFT provides supervised clinical experience in general practice, supported by a programme of study days and mentoring.
- EEA Graduates
EEA Dental Graduates
Clear pathways for dentists who qualified in the European Economic Area and are looking to practise in the UK.
- SLP
Supported Learning Pathway
NHPL's supported-learning pathway offers structured professional development and mentoring for dentists at different stages of their career.
- PLVE
Performer List Validation by Experience
The supervised route for experienced dentists to join the NHS performers list. PLVE placements are hosted across NHPL practices under close clinical supervision.
